Glen Luchford

Glen Luchford is another photographer i looked at during the Identity Project. I discussed my admiration for Luchford's lighting style and tried to replicate it. However i was unsuccessful. I am hoping to try again using technical knowledge from the lighting workshops.

Delaney Bishop

Delaney Bishop is a filmmaker and photographer. These images continue my theme of experimenting with materials. I may try some close-ups of the models face.

Erwin Blumenfield

Erwin Blumenfeld is a photographer i looked at during the Identity project. I have revisited his work again as i like the way in which he has made his images slightly surreal. I would particularly like to explore the idea of making my images look solarized. This idea is consistent with that of the Nick Knight image below.

The first image uses a very interesting lighting effect, which is very effective, especially in black and white. I would like to be experimental with my lighting set-ups.

Craig McDean

Craig McDean is a fashion photographer. I like his use of mirrors and metallics. I may look into using mirrors in my work as a way of reflecting light. I think the reason why these images work really well is because they are in black and white. I want to keep all my images black and white, most likely shooting in digital and editing in Photoshop afterwards.

Cecil Beaton

These Cecil Beaton images are of a similar style to Nick Knight's photo. I like the lighting in the first image. I would like to use light behind the model. The materials used create unusual textures and reflections. Interestingly these photographs are very similar to the Nick Knight photo below, perhaps they influenced him in his Dior campaign.

Nick Knight

This is an image taken for Dior's spring/summer campaign 2004. I love the lighting and overall effect Nick Knight has used here. I am going to attempt to create something similar in my work. I really like the idea of using material and surfaces to reflect light. This makes it a bit more experimental and challenging.
